I founded a thriving, fast growing artisan cheese business and went through similar process. We were greenest dairy in world. Platinum LEED certified. Wind. Solar. Geothermal powered, bio wetlands, etc etc. Awards for cave aged cheese we made came fast and furious. We grew fast. Too. Too long of story to tell here, but I also resigned eventually. Investors started to careless about values and more about quick roi. Forced changes I could not live with. The dairy still operates as former shadow of what it once was. Impact investors, social enterprises as defined by mainstream is nothing but good old capitalism in sheep’s clothing.
